- Create a small paper model
- Create your design 3-Dimensionally in clay

Scale Project #1: "Zoom In to Abstract"
1. Find an image from a magazine with interesting colors, patterns, textures and/or designs.
2. Use a 1"x1" viewfinder to crop out a 1" box from the magazine page.
3. Begin sketching 1" image onto 16"x16" pastel paper, use the "X" grid method as necessary to help enlarge the original image.
4. Use pastels to add color, blend pastels to match original colors as close as possible
